Editorial Policy

MISSION The Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa (RAEP) is the first academic publication in Brazil aimed at disseminating very latest in Administration education and research. It is published quarterly by the National Association of Undergraduate Courses in Administration (ANGRAD) for the academic community: students, professors, researchers and academic managers of courses and programs in Administration. SCOPE With the intent of aligning its content to the demands of the academic community in the field of Administration, the journal, in addition to including original papers and theoretical essays, values summaries of theses and dissertations, case studies, descriptions of good practices in teaching and learning, and book reviews. The content of these texts must contribute to epistemological and methodological reflection; the professional development of business administrators, especially as regards processes that involve teaching and learning thus being able to influence students' learning; or the academic management of undergraduate Administration courses. Being a vehicle for the dissemination of international academic production, the Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa publishes papers by authors from Brazil and abroad. While the print edition of RAEP is sent to ANGRAD members, the online version is available for consultation by the national and international academic community. Thus, those responsible for the journal offer free and immediate access to the contents of each edition, believing that making the technical and academic production available at no cost to the greater public represents a collaborative effort in democratizing access to knowledge. End notes should be used as sparingly as possible and be organized at the end of the text, sequentially, after the references. Works publihsed as a result of activities financed by any promotion agency, for example, CNPq, CAPES or FAPESP among others, must mention the support received, after the references, with the following notes: a) paper signed by an author: "The present paper was realized with the support of (insitution's name, in full)"; b) paper signed by more than one author: "Beneficiary of auxiliary financing from (institution's name, in full)". Author(s) who do not comply with the parameters described above will have their submission returned to make the respective modifications. SUBMISSION The work can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English or French. The magazine Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa adopts a blind review process in the evaluation of submitted works. For this reason, when submitting a text to the journal, author(s) must not identify their respective name(s) in the body of the text. Should this happen, the work will be automatically disqualified. The details regarding the authorship of the work must be registered on the submission page of the text. EVALUATION PROCESS Works sent for publication in Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa are subject to an evaluation process aimed at disseminating the best contributions received and evaluated until each edition is finalized. The evaluation process begins with an evaluation by the Editor. At this stage, the suitability of the work as regards the publication's editorial policy will be assessed. The Editor will then forward suitable works to two evaluators, as per a double blind review. At this time, the evaluators will receive the evaluation criteria that should be considered in their evaluation of the work. The Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa counts with a body of evaluators that comprises approximately three academics. This group is renewed as necessary, always with the intent to reinforce the highest editorial standards. The criteria considered in the evaluation process are listed below and are applied based on the submission's nature and type. - Originality and importance of the main ideas; - Quality of the treatment and relevance of the existing literature; - Quality of the presentation of the ideas; - Conception and execution of the research methods; - Contribution of the work to an advance in knowledge. The evaluators are oriented to contribute to the revision of the contents of the work being evaluated. Therefore, at the end of the initial evaluation, the work may be "approved", "approved depending on adjustments by the authors", or "dispensed from a second evaluation by the evaluators". The evaluators' contributions are sent to the author, who is expected to make the suggested changes. Once these have been made, the author sends the revised work to the Editor, who, in turn, will forward it to the evaluators so that they can undertake the second assessment, resulting in the approval or rejection of the work for publication. If the two evaluators do not reach a consensus, the Editor will send the work to a third evaluator, who will undertake an evaluation based on the three evaluations received, aiming to decide whether the work should remain under the evaluation process, depending upon adjustments by the author, or if it should be rejected. After the work has been recommended for publication, it will undergo a review based on its orthography and professional writing style prior to being published. The Editor will reject works that do not present the minimum conditions or are not in line with the magazine's editorial policy, without being obliged to send the authors a report. This procedure is believed to contribute for author(s) interested in submitting their work to another academic periodical. Copyright The rights of works published in Administração: Ensino e Pesquisa (RAEP) remain with the authors of the publication. Authors and readers are permitted to share the material, use it in class, for presentations and also for other purposes, and to create new knowledge based on any RAEP publication, as long as the due credit is attributed to the original work and the respective author(s), through citations, references and other means. After a work has been approved for publication, the authors will be notified by email and will receive a letter containing the conditions pertaining to publication rights, as well as an authorization for publication in digital mediums. The document must be signed by each author and returned, in digital format, by email. The magazine does not charge authors for submissions or for the publication of approved works.
